Elie Saab is perfection (Fall 2011 collection)

“Si yo fuera rica… Dabi dubi dubi dubi dubi dubi dubi dum”

“If I were a rich girl… Dabi dubi dubi dubi dubi dubi dubi dum”

This is the song that comes to my mind each time I see one new Elie Saab’s collection. And that’s because the libanese designer is without any doubt one of my favourites. His dresses not only are extremenely feminine but also his cuts and drapings outstand the body of women with a natural elegance and innate delicacy.

For this collection called Belle de Jour (event if it didn't have much to do with Buñuel and Deneuve) the designer choose basic tones like black, pearl gery, red or dark red. Only one abstract  print appeared in the whole show. The day looks are basically dresses (there are few pants) with strategic cuts and drapings that are very flattering. But when it comes to the night gowns… well is then that one understand the reason of his huge success…

“If I were a rich girl… Dabi dubi dubi dubi dubi dubi dubi dum”

Happy Monday!!

PS:By the way, I strongly suggest you to read the excellent post that  Monica from Miss at La Playa has written about him .

Fashion tip: The idea of dressing in a monochromatic way is a very common tip used by image consultants to visually elongate the body shape. Pay attention to the way he has done it!
