Look of the day: An outfit for a special event

Many of you have asked me to prepare a post about different looks that could be wear for weddings,  christenings or Holy communion events. To be honest this is quite an important work and I’m working on it , but I expect to post it next week.

In the meantime, and just to giving you some ideas, I’ve prepare this outfit. We usually tend to wear dresses  (whether short or long) to these events, but how about a pair of trousers? They also could be a good option!! I’ve picked this ankle trousers which combined with the Chanel style jacket from Blanco make the whole outfit quite chic.

The look is ideal for a christening or Holy communion event but also for an informal civil wedding (the religious ones require a bit more “of pomp and pageantry”). The t-shirt adds an informal touch but it can perfectly be worn with a silk blouse for a dressy look. The height of the heels is perfect to tolerate your shoes for hours and don’t hate them at the end of the day… specially if you have to run after your children!!

What do you think ladies?
Do you dare with a pair of trousers for any of these events??

Look of the day: Sport de luxe (II)

¿Y vosotras chicas?
¿Con cuál os quedáis? ¿La primera, la segunda o ninguna?
¡Gracias por vuestros comentarios!

Last Monday I showed you a very trendy look that didn’t convinced me very much... (Yes ladies,  we bloggers also do it wrong sometimes!!)

But I’m the kind of person who believes that everybody deserves a second chance and that things not always turn out right at first chance (nor second, or third, or fourth…). That’s why I’ve decided to make another reinterpretation of that trend.

For that occasion I chose the same hoodie but different tone combined with a pair of Blanco jeans and my mum’s vintage Fendi. Having a look to both looks, now I think that I prefer the second one…

How about you ladies?
Do you prefer the first one, the second one or none of them?
Thanks for your comments!!

Iconic film: All about Eve (1950)

¡Feliz martes bellezones!

You can’t  consider yourself a good cinema lover if you haven’t seen at least once in your life “All about Eve” (1950), the film I’m presenting you today (and by the way based on a true history).

Directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and starred by Bette Davies (Margo Channing), Anne Baxter (Eve Harrington), George Sanders (Addison DeWitt) and Thelma Ritter (Birdie Coonan) it tells the history of Eve Harrington (Baxter) a young and ambitious theater actress who aspires to be famous no matter how.  She believes that becoming the personal assistant of the most famous star of the time Margo Channing (Davies), will help her so that’s what she does. Margo decides to give her a chance even if she is reluctant at first. But the sweet and apparently delicate Eve turns out to be an evil  woman capable of doing anything in order to achieve a main role in a play.  But Margo is  determined to fight  nail and tooth to maintain the position that has supposed so many years of hard work and sacrifice to her…

The film is a masterpiece that was nominated to 14 Oscars awards and won 6 of them (Best film,  director,  supporting actor , screenplay, sound recording  and best black and white film costume design). Edith head, one of my favorite wardrobe designers, was the responsible for the designs of the film and won the Oscar for her work.

The film meant the first important appearance of a young and unknown Marilyn Monroe in the role of Addison DeWitt’s lover.  As an anecdote let me tell you that due to her inexperience , it  took 11 takes for Marilyn to complete the scene in the theatre lobby. When the star Bette Davies, sick of so many takes, barked at her Monroe left the set to vomit…

In short, a film that you MUST see!!
Happy Tuesday beauties!!

Eve looks delicate and fragile...

But she's an extremely ambitious woman...

The famous black dress...

Eve finally becomes a star...

But there's a price you have to pay...Loneliness...

And the fact that you can have another "Eve" around you...

Look of the day: Sport de luxe

JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA…

This past weekend the weather has been amazing.  The sun invited to go out and have a walk, to take pictures, to enjoy the snack time….

I wanted to try something a bit different so I opted for a look that I’ve called “sport de luxe”. As you may know this trend has arrived from the gyms to the runaways and, consequently, to the street.

Ok ladies, tracksuit plus heels is not allowed (please!!) but you can chose pieces with sporty air and jazz them up with chic accessories. For instance I picked this cotton grey harem pant with a blue hoodie and a sporty jacket that I wore with a golden bag and matching peep-toes booties . Do you think it is “too much”??

What do you think about this trend?
Do you like it or do you believe it should be used only in the gym??

PS: BTW my father was completely horrified by this outfit. He urged me to take off this “horrible pants”… LOL…

Sporty jacket:  H&M (old)
Blue hoodie, bag, earrings and necklace: Primark (S/S 12)
Pants: Local shop
Booties peep-toes: Zara (sales)
